On 30 Oct. 1956 we left Fort Hood, Texas by train. I was appointed the Group Leader over four other GI'S:
I remember, We had a few hours lay over in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania That lay over remimds me of of the song "Standing on the Corner" by the Four Lads (1965), and that was just what we were doing. It was Halloween Night in 1956. We were picked up by some girls in a convertible. They drove us all over town. We almost missed our train. After a long train ride from Ft. Hood, I seen New Jersey for the first time.
